The Philadelphia Clef Club (PCC) of Jazz and Performing Arts is a historic nonprofit dedicated to preserving and promoting jazz through performance, education, and community outreach. Located on Broad Street in Philadelphia, it has long been a cultural home for both emerging and established jazz musicians.
This rebranding project revitalizes the Club’s visual identity by blending tradition with modern design. The new logo is flexible and symbolic. It shows a jazz musician in motion, but when rotated, it becomes an exclamation mark and also hints at a saxophone. These layered meanings reflect the energy, excitement, and roots of jazz.
The full brand system uses spotlight-inspired shapes, deep and vibrant colors, and a type pairing of Futura and Monoton to balance clarity with rhythm. Applied across posters, motion graphics, and merchandise, the rebrand creates a bold, cohesive identity that celebrates the Club’s legacy while connecting with new audiences.
